The Impact That Killed The Dinosaurs
Sixty-six million years ago, a 12 kilometres asteroid collided with Earth just off the coast of what is now Mexico. The space rock crashed down near the town of Chicxulub, some 300 kilometres west of Cancún, leading to the annihilation of the dinosaurs and 75% of life on Earth.
The project was for Asteroid Day and the B612 Foundation – published by the Astronomy Magazine and the BBC. Max Alexander is Asteroid Day’s photographer-in-residence and a team member.
